Fathimath learned the art of Maldivian lacquer work (Liyelefun) from her grandmother, a renowned craftswoman from Thulhaadhoo. She has spent over 20 years perfecting this intricate art form and was awarded the National Heritage Craftsmanship Award in 2023.
